Residents will have an opportunity to experience the future North Shore Trail during Camas Parks & Recreation’s second annual Leadbetter Walk & Roll event on Sept. 13.
The free event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. along Leadbetter Road, which will be closed to vehicle traffic between the Lacamas Lake Boat Launch and Camp Currie. Community members can explore the roughly 1-mile lakeside stretch of road by foot, bicycle or other mobility device.
Attendees also can visit the historic Rose property and equestrian barn, which are planned to become part of a regional park. Clark County will host an open house at Camp Currie during the event.
Parking will be available in the gravel lot at the Lacamas Lake Boat Launch at the south end of the road closure, which organizers recommend as the starting area. Limited parking also will be available at Camp Currie. Parking will not be allowed along Leadbetter Road.
Registration is not required.
