New Washougal Community Library to break ground later this year

Building in city’s downtown will be welcoming, FVRLibraries director says

The Washougal Community Library is easy to miss. It has occupied a small, understated space in the city’s civic complex since 1981. A new 14,000-square-foot downtown building set to break ground later this year is intended to make the library impossible to overlook.

The new Washougal branch will be a welcoming, accessible hub for everyone in the community, FVRLibraries Director Jennifer Giltrop said.
