Naked Falls, a campground near Washougal, has been named one of Hipcamp’s 50 Favorite Places to Camp in America Right Now for 2026.

The annual list, released by the camping reservation platform Hipcamp ahead of the July Fourth holiday, highlights campsites across 35 states selected by the company’s editorial team. The list includes private campsites, public campgrounds, farms, riverfront retreats and destinations near popular outdoor attractions.

Hipcamp is an online marketplace and app described as the “Airbnb of camping.” It allows users to discover and book both public and private outdoor accommodations, including tent sites, RV spots, glamping sites and cabins.

Naked Falls was one of four Washington locations recognized. The others were Aliya Preserve near Kalaloch, Dick’s Last Resort on the River near Sequim and McGovern Residence near Pomeroy.

“This section of the river has been a hotspot for kayakers and cliff divers for decades,” Hipcamp’s website states. “If you like watching salmon run, this is a great place to do it.”

Hipcamp’s editorial team selected the 50 destinations from more than 500,000 campsites listed on its platform, considering camper reviews and ratings, scenery, geographic diversity, host hospitality and travel trends.

“Travel can feel expensive right now, but people still need a real break,” Hipcamp founder and CEO Alyssa Ravasio said in a news release. “Camping is one of the simplest ways to step away from screens and feel connected with the world outside.”

The company said the list is intended to help campers identify destinations to visit during the summer travel season, whether close to home or as part of a longer trip.
