Three schools in the Camas and Washougal school districts have been recognized through the Washington School Recognition Program for exceptional progress in student achievement and growth.
The annual state program highlights public schools that demonstrate strong performance in key areas of student success as part of the Washington School Improvement Framework. Created by the Legislature in 2010 and redesigned in 2018, the recognition program is administered by the Washington State Board of Education in partnership with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee.
In Camas, Grass Valley Elementary School earned recognition for achievement in English language arts, math and attendance, reflecting strong academic performance and student engagement.
In Washougal, Gause Elementary School and Canyon Creek Middle School were recognized for growth among students in one or more racial or ethnic groups, highlighting gains in student performance and efforts to close opportunity gaps.
The recognition places the schools among those across Washington being honored for measurable progress and continued commitment to student success.
