Clark County voters will decide Nov. 3 whether to approve a $366.2 million bond measure to expand the county jail, which has operated at near capacity for most of the year.

Proposition 12 would fund a long-debated jail expansion — from 519 to 739 beds — and a new headquarters for the sheriff’s office through a 30-year bond. Property owners would pay just under 16 cents per $1,000 of assessed value, or $86 a year on a $550,000 home.
