Ridgefield’s new police chief has 27 years law enforcement experience, including leadership role with Washougal PD

Ridgefield City Manager Steve Stuart has appointed Washougal Police Department Operations Capt. Jim Quackenbush as the north Clark County city’s next police chief.

Quackenbush brings 27 years of law enforcement experience — including leadership roles with police departments in Washougal, Portland and Boise, Idaho — to the position. He replaces Cathy Doriot, who in April announced her intention to retire as Ridgefield’s police chief upon the appointment of her successor.
