Camas school board names interim superintendent

The Camas School Board voted unanimously Thursday evening to appoint Doug Hood, the district’s director of elementary education, as its interim superintendent for the 2021-22 school year.

Prune Hill drug detox center decision pending

Camas Hearings Examiner Joe Turner will rule by the end of this month on a conditional-use permit that would allow a substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation center to operate in Camas’ mostly residential Prune Hill neighborhood.

Public meetings for the week of April 1-8, 2021

Camas School District: The Camas School Board will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, to discuss a new 3-foot social distancing guideline and update the community about the district’s search for a new superintendent. To attend the meeting in-person, call Gail Gast at 360-833-5412. All people inside the board room must wear face coverings. The board room, at 841 N.E. 22nd Ave., Camas, has limited seating available and can accommodate 20 community members. There will not be any citizen comments at this special meeting.
