Senior leadership was on full display at the 4A District 4 girls golf tournament at Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield on May 6-7, with two Camas golfers on the top of the leaderboard.
With district meets set for this week, track and field athletes in Camas and Washougal are working to achieve their peak performances at the perfect time.
It took 11 innings, but Camas junior Tyler Forner’s clutch single pushed in senior Shane Jamison for a 4-3 win over Battle Ground, allowing the Camas baseball team to take the 4A Greater St. Helens League title on April 29.
The last time the Washougal baseball team competed in the district tournament, head coach Zach Carter was an 8-year-old learning to hit fastballs in the East County Little League.
A 2001 Washougal High graduate recently proved instrumental in leading one of the greatest turnarounds in college hoops history.

Washougal High sophomore Katie Stevens may be relatively new to the sport of track and field, but her natural ability in the pole vault already has her soaring to the top of the standings in the 2A Greater St. Helens League.
