Camas distance runner Daniel Maton has done it again. The Camas junior defended his “best in the state” titles in the 1,600-meter and 800-meter events at the 4A state championship meet, held at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma, May 24-26.
The Panthers’ tennis duo of Beyonce Bea and Rebecca Boylan are district champions.
For three years, Kallie Sakamoto’s home golf course has been just a few hundred yards south of Washougal High School (WHS). Orchard Hills Country Club is where she honed her skills with countless practice rounds after school and on weekends as a member of the Washougal High girls golf team. It also is where she put those skills to work competing against other schools during three full seasons as the top golfer at WHS.
When Camas High softball pitcher Kennedy Ferguson took the mound against Union High on May 9, she knew a win would clinch a Papermaker league championship.
