The summer before their senior year at Camas High School, Emma Jimenez, Rylee Mcdonald, Mason Minder, Amanda Shi, Maddie Smit and Sarah Yang helped the Washington Timbers 97 Green soccer team win the Presidents Cup Sunday, at Overland Park, Kansas.

As the hometown crowd multiplied at Forest Home Park, so did the determination of the Camas Little League all-stars to win districts.

Evergreen Storm reigns at Pacific Northwest meet

Eighteen Camas and Washougal athletes from the Evergreen Storm Track Club finished in the top eight at the Pacific Northwest Association Championship meet June 26 through 28, at Chief Sealth High School, in Seattle.

Eastern Washington University Eagle Melissa Williams drives to the basket during a game against Northern Arizona Feb. 21. In the 73-42 win at home for EWU, she recorded her third consecutive double-double as the Eagles won their sixth straight game. Williams, a 2011 CHS graduate, recently completed her college basketball career at EWU, an effort that culminated with a scholar athlete award.

A Camas High School graduate was recently honored for being a pinnacle example of a student-athlete in the Big Sky Conference.

The Relay for Life of East Clark County began Saturday morning, with a walk around the track by cancer survivors and caregivers. The 24-hour event was held at Fishback Stadium, by Washougal High School.
