Decision on Farrell House permit tonight

After 3 1/2 hours of public testimony and Camas Planning Commission deliberation, a decision about whether to approve an application for an unclassified use permit from the owner of the historic Farrell House will be made tonight. Planning Commissioners Troy Hull, Judy Hooper, David Shepherd and Bryan Beel voted to carry the meeting over to today, at 7 p.m., at City Hall, 616 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Patchworks of Art

Quilters, knitters and crocheters from all over the area and as far away as New York will be bursting into Camas Friday to show off their artistic works. The first Camas Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival will take place Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in downtown Camas.

Harmless red dye will be released into Lacamas Creek

Weather permitting, scientists from the Washington Department of Ecology will release a harmless fluorescent dye into Lacamas Creek and its tributaries tonight and the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday.

Al Bailey is lending his lighthouse replicas to the Two Rivers Heritage Museum, in Washougal. Bailey, of Battle Ground, has been involved in the hobby of making replicas for more than 25 years.

Coastal Creations

Admirers of lighthouses can get their fill of the seaside beauties in one visit to Washougal. A collection of lighthouse replicas are on display at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum through Sept. 30. They were built by Al Bailey, of Battle Ground. "I spent most of my life on the water, in commercial fishing," he said. "It came natural, and I always liked lighthouses."
