Citizens input needed to outline vision

Decades ago, when Camas was still considered by many to be a small, sleepy mill town, local community leaders had a vision. Since that time, new industries have made their way into the landscape, and along with them new homes, neighborhoods, schools, roads and other infrastructure, parks and trails, and businesses of all varieties.

Camas comprehensive plan update ‘visioning’ begins

This week, the City of Camas will launch the community visioning phase of its 2016 comprehensive plan update. During Camas Days on Friday and Saturday community development department staff including Director Phil Bourquin and Senior Planner Sarah Fox, as well as recently hired consultants, will be on hand at the city's tent to distribute community questionnaires, answer questions and accept feedback.

Born to be wild

Tommy Weeck looks forward to gaining more ground during the ninth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Saturday, at Washougal Motocross Park. "The biggest thrill is having a home race and hearing all the local families and fans cheering for you," said the 23-year-old Washougal native. "It makes you want to push harder and make more passes. The better you're doing, the louder they get. You can feel the excitement from them."
