No, it's not going to rank up there with the stories about the great success the Washougal and Camas girls' sports programs had this past weekend, or this week's Hometown front page story. Heck, even a City Council story will probably seem fascinating compared to what I'm about to write about.

A daughter has been born to Nicholas and Amy Brown of Camas. Gwendolyn Mae Brown was born Sept. 27, 2011, at 3:48 p.m., at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver.

Building Industry Group honors Ed Orcutt and Steve Stuart

Several area legislators and city and county officials were recently recognized by the Building Industry Group. State Rep. Ed Orcutt (18th District) was named the "Person of the Year" during the Jan. 5 "Nothing But Networking" event at the Red Lion Vancouver Quay.

Donations will be given to SHARE

In an effort to help protect the public safeguard their personal documents and prevent identity theft, the local State Farm agency will host a document shredding day on Friday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. Hosted by the State Farm Agents Nathan Loren and Linda Huff, the event will be held at Car Quest, 3136 N.E. Third Ave., in Camas.
