Camas library prepares for 10-day closure

For the second time this year, the Camas Public Library will implement an extended closure as part of a handful of 2011 budget reduction measures. The library will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24 to Monday, Jan. 2. It will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Washougal High School students spent their Friday afternoon collecting and loading food onto school buses during the annual Stuff the Bus event, which was created by the Camas-Washougal Business Alliance.

Feeding the community

Local charities will have better-stocked food pantries this winter thanks to the efforts of local students and the Camas-Washougal Business Alliance. The fourth-annual Stuff the Bus, a friendly competition between Camas and Washougal high schools, brought in 61,600 pounds of food Friday.
