Mixed-use development proposed for ‘E’ Street

Port, city officials proclaim support for Washougal School District

The city of Washougal and Port of Camas-Washougal have issued proclamations of support for the Washougal School District, which is preparing to eliminate more than 200 staff positions, extracurricular activities and a variety of educational programs and services if its replacement levy requests fail later this month for a second time.

Walking map highlights Washougal history

Two Rivers Heritage Museum’s lead researcher, Madeline Mesplay, will introduce a walking map of historic downtown Washougal and talk about the history of east Clark County kit houses at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Washougal Community Center, 1661 “C” St., Washougal.

Washougal school levy foes rally ahead of April 25 election

Two weeks ahead of the April 25 special election that will decide the fate of two Washougal School District levies that pay for everything from athletics and arts classes to roof repairs, technology and school nurses, a group led by Washougal resident and Clark County Republican Party Precinct Committee Officer Glenn Kincaid gathered in downtown Washougal on Monday, April 10, to wave “vote no” signs and urge voters to turn against the school levies.

Pianist opens music studio in downtown Washougal

Some of Valerie Ross’ earliest childhood memories involve her mother teaching piano lessons to eager youngsters from their home in northern California. Gazing upon the teacher and student from across the room, she became mesmerized by the sounds they were making. She finally convinced her mother to teach her how to play when she was about 4 years old.
