Hearing set for C-Tran fare increase

The public will get the chance to weigh-in on a proposal to increase C-Tran bus fares.

The public hearing will be held Tuesday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m., at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave., in Vancouver.

Proposed changes include 5 cent increases to Adult C-Zone fares (from $1.60 to $1.65), Adult All-Zone fares (from $2.45 to $2.50), Honored All-Zone fares (from $1.20 to $1.25), Youth All-Zone (from $1.20 to $1.25), C-VAN All-Zone (from $1.60 to $1.65), C-VAN All-Zone ($2.45 to $2.50).

Monthly and annual passes would also be headed for increases. An Adult C-Zone monthly pass will increase from $56 to $58, while an Adult All-Zone pass jumps from $90 to $100. An Adult C-Zone annual pass would go from $616 to $638 per year, while an adult All-Zone pass jumps from $990 to $1,100.

The C-Tran Board must approve the changes. The board is comprised of the three Clark County Commissioners in addition to local government leaders representing the Clark County Public Transportation Benefit Area. Washougal City Councilwoman Connie Jo Freeman currently represents Camas and Washougal.
