ECFR, Camas officials will discuss shared services

Leaders with East County Fire and Rescue and the City of Camas will come together to discuss shared fire department administrative services.

A meeting will be held Monday, March 28, at 5:30 p.m., at Camas City Hall, 616 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Renewed discussions focusing on working toward find more opportunities for shared services between the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and East County Fire and Rescue surfaced again in February. Specifically, ECFR officials have mentioned the concept of joint management.

ECFR is currently being led by temporary, interim Chief Al Gillespie. His contract, which was negotiated through ECFR consultant Emergency Services Consulting International, runs through the end of April.

The meeting will include Camas City Administrator Pete Capell and CWFD Chief Nick Swinhart, as well as members of the ECFR Commission and Gillespie.
