A regional heatwave has prompted the National Weather Service to issue an excessive heat watch order for all of Clark County, as well as parts of Cowlitz County, the Portland area, the Willamette Valley and the Cascade foothills and the Oregon Coast.

The NWS is expecting a high of 100 degrees and a low of 70 on Wednesday, Aug. 11. Thursday, Aug. 12, will have a high of 105 and a low of 72, and Friday, Aug. 13, will have a high of 104 and a low of 72 with clouds moving in. On Saturday, Aug. 14, the high is likely going to be in the high 90s.

The heatwave is due to high pressure from the Pacific Ocean that will blow away Saturday night.

Cooling centers will be available at the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St., Washougal; Washougal Community Library, 1661 “C” St., Washougal; and Camas Public Library, 625 NE 4th Ave., Camas.
