Gnomes, fairies take over downtown Camas this Friday

First Friday event on May 7 to feature ribbon-cuttings, mural unveiling, art shows, chances to win prizes from downtown merchants

The Downtown Camas Association’s First Friday event on May 7 will be a “Gnome and Fairy Gala” with after-hours shopping, art shows and ribbon-cuttings at downtown businesses, as well as virtual activities throughout the week.

Participants can attend find fairy houses throughout the downtown landscaping and flower pots and fill in the passport to be entered to win fun gnome and fairy themed prizes sponsored by Realtor Carla Edwards; have their pictures taken with Mr. and Mrs. Gnome by the fountain at Northeast Fourth Avenue and Northeast Cedar Street; attend art gallery shows at Attic Gallery, 421 N.E. Cedar St., and Camas Gallery, 408 N.E. Fourth Ave.

The Camas Gallery will feature the 16 winners of the Society of Washington Artists’ online spring show through the month of May, beginning with a First Friday gallery reception May 7. For more information, visit downtowncamas.com.
