The Artisans’ Guild of Camas and Gallery 408 will hold the Student Art Show, a one-day event celebrating creativity, self-expression, and the next generation of artistic talent, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 7 a The Black Pearl on the Columbia in Washougal.
The show, open to middle and high school students in Camas and Washougal is designed to give students a real-world art experience, complete with professional display and the chance to sell their work, according to a news release.
Student artists will learn to prepare their art for exhibition, write an artist statement, and discuss their creative process with visitors.
“This show gives kids that spark of what it feels like to be a working artist,” said organizer Lara Blair. “They get to see their work professionally displayed, engage with the public, and experience the pride that comes from sharing their vision.”
Students who wish to sell their artwork are encouraged to attend the event in person and handle their own transactions, either through a phone payment app or cash.
