The Port of Camas-Washogal has selected a Camas resident as its first deputy director.
The port announced Jan. 12 that it has selected Marlo Maroon for the newly created role. Maroon currently serves on the city of Camas’ planning commission and previously worked for Pregame HQ, a Portland-based strategic planning and leadership development firm; the Travel Portland nonprofit organization; and as a licensed real estate professional.
Welcoming the Port of Camas-Washougal’s new Deputy Director, Marlo Maroon!
“Marlo … is deeply committed to thoughtful, inclusive growth in Southwest Washington and the Port’s role in creating jobs, vibrant places, and long-term community prosperity,” a news release states. “Marlo brings strategic, people-centered leadership—caring deeply about people, place, and how organizations show up for the communities they serve.”
Maroon grew up on a goat farm in rural New Mexico, an experience that “shaped her appreciation for hard work, resourcefulness, and community,” according to the news release.
“That grounding continues to influence her leadership today, showing up with humility, curiosity, and a strong belief that when people are supported and systems are clear, teams and communities can do their best work,” the news release states.
