The Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce honored local volunteers, educators, business leaders and students during its annual awards banquet June 9 at Orchard Hills Golf Club in Washougal.
The chamber named Ann Stevens of Washougal its 2026 Citizen of the Year, recognizing her extensive volunteer service and leadership with several local nonprofit organizations, including Unite Washougal, Refuel Washougal, the Camas-Washougal Community Chest, W.S.A.F.E. and the Washougal Business Association.
Stevens also works for the Washougal School District and was praised by chamber officials for her commitment to serving community members in need.
The chamber selected Ben Jackson, owner of the Washougal Times restaurant, as its 2026 Businessperson of the Year. Jackson was recognized for his support of numerous local causes, including fundraising efforts for the Camas-Washougal Community Chest, winter food drives and donations to local nonprofits.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jackson provided free lunches to community members for several months and continues to support local organizations, including the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, which operates a monthly mobile veterinary clinic from his property.
