As the need for donated blood continues through the holidays, several blood drives are scheduled this month in the Camas-Washougal area.

The dining area of The Puffin Cafe, in Washougal, features views of the Port of Camas-Washougal marina and the Columbia River. The waterfront restaurant, which has Treasure Island Salad, Barbados fish tacos and Buccaneer Burgers. is included in the "101 Things to Do in Camas & Washougal" list created by the C-W Chamber of Commerce.

New marketing efforts promote C-W businesses

Even on cloudy, rainy days, Robert Guetter maintains a summer state of mind. "I'm just trying to make my little spot of sunshine," he said. As the co-owner of The Puffin Cafe with his wife Jennifer, Robert Guetter is optimistic about the waterfront restaurant's offseason. "It looks like the economy is getting better because we are getting inquiries for Christmas parties from companies and families," he said.

Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Funeral Chapel and Crematory recently promoted two of its employees. Lindsay Fisher has been named vice president of administration and Megan Carlson is now the vice president of crematory operation.

Antiques store features art and eclectics

The owners of a new antiques store are continuing a family tradition of operating businesses in downtown Camas. Tony Sampson, his wife Debra and their daughter Belle Mathieu, have been busy preparing to open A Twist on Time. A soft opening is planned for Friday. A grand opening, set for Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will include complimentary refreshments. Also, the first 50 customers will receive a gift with purchase.
