Clark County composter-recycler training begins this month

Clark County’s composter-recycler program will offer a free eight-week certification training for residents interested in learning about low-waste living and sharing sustainability information with the community.

Camas-Washougal Community Chest to host Valentine’s Day fundraiser

The Camas-Washougal Community Chest (CWCC) nonprofit organization is prepared to give $141,000 to Camas-Washougal charitable groups in early March 2025, a $7,000 increase over its 2024 distribution total but far short of the combined $306,736 requested from a record 43 grant applications.

Camas High School’s tennis court revamp gets environmental OK from City

The city of Camas has determined the Camas School District’s plan to revamp the Camas High School tennis courts — adding an all-weather dome and resurfacing the courts, installing new lights and improving an adjacent parking lot — will not adversely impact the environment.

Camas city councilor announces surprise resignation

Bonnie Carter, the longest-serving member of the Camas City Council, resigned unexpectedly Monday night, telling Camas Mayor Steve Hogan and other Council members that she planned to stay in her position through the Council’s Feb. 3 meeting.
