Port to discuss Grove Field annexation plans with public

The Port of Camas-Washougal will hold an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, to provide community members with information about its request to annex Grove Field airport into Clark County’s urban growth boundary.

Washougal students launch campaign to educate about underage substance abuse

Washougal High School sophomore Angel Garibay-Villa asked Washougal City Council members during their April 22 Council meeting to guess how many Washougal High students use vaping products. After a few seconds of deliberating, Washougal Mayor David Stuebe ventured a guess: “30 percent? I hope not.”

Camas OKs temporary ADU code changes ahead of new state law

The Camas City Council has unanimously approved temporary amendments to the City’s accessory dwelling unit (ADU) code that will limit the size and scope of ADUs built in Camas ahead of a more permanent ordinance that will comply with new statewide affordable-housing law — House Bill 1337 (HB 1337) — that will ultimately limit the way in which cities can regulate ADUs.

‘Stride Run’ grants promote reading in Washougal schools

For the past several months, Washougal School District (WSD) elementary school students have been “reading around” their libraries thanks to a new program that encourages them to discover new literary genres and write book reviews.
