Washougal history museum ‘prepared and ready’ for new season, influx of visitors

As a native New Yorker and longtime Bay Area resident, Tish Bayer didn’t know much at all about the history of east Clark County when she moved to Washougal with her husband, John, in 2005 after retiring from a long career as a development professional for nonprofit organizations.

Washougal songwriter’s dream comes true

Ron Chant fell in love with country music as a boy growing up on a dairy farm in New Mexico, where he would sit in front of a small radio in his parents’ barn on Saturday nights to catch the latest songs from Johnny Horton, the Kershaw Brothers, a young Elvis Presley and many more on the famed Louisiana Hayride Show.

Washougal couple launch effort to bring performing arts venue to city’s downtown

In late 2022, Christopher and Stephanie Corbell launched the Washougal Songcraft Festival, a nonprofit organization that strives to foster, share and celebrate the craft of songwriting and develop the performing arts and creative community of Washougal and the surrounding region through “song circle” events and an annual music festival.
