Genuine Play, located in the Evergreen Marketplace, in Washougal. Gruelle opened the child play space and drop-in child care facility in December of 2017. She will offer half-day and full-day preschool, starting in April.

Alex Smokehouse, located at 1834 Main St., in downtown Washougal, serves house smoked meats in sandwiches and salads. The restaurant, originally named Alex's BBQ, also has soups, lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. The tap room, previously owned by Kevin King of Amnesia Brewing, has a variety of beer on tap. Amnesia Brewing closed in December of 2017. A new operator for the brewery will be announced soon.

Miller Manufacturing, Inc., a company that builds high speed lumber planers, sawmill and planer equipment and systems for the wood products industry, will relocate within the Port of Camas-Washougal Industrial Park this summer and increase its staffing by 50 percent, going from 20 employees to about 30.

A restaurant serving contemporary American cuisine is expected to open in April at 401 N.E. Fourth Ave., on the ground floor of the Camas Hotel, in downtown Camas. The space, previously occupied by Miss Nola's Cafe, has been vacant since September of 2017.
