The students on the MAU Team, which came up with Modular Agricultural Units and technology designed to help resource-poor, young urban "micro farmers" grow and trade crops, consisted of (from left to right) Madeline Henion, Myles Wetzel, Edison Twyman and Cody Crawford. Discovery High School innovators place third at Mercy Corps event

Three groups of Discovery High freshmen from Camas recently competed with young innovators from Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington for cash prizes and the quest to solve one incredibly important problem — a lack of food for the world’s population by 2050.

Camas students help ‘reforest’ town

Camasonians can breathe a little easier thanks to the work of the Camas High School Green Team, which planted nearly 100 trees last week, as part of the group’s latest eco-friendly mission.

Students help decorate governor’s tree

Second grade art students at Columbia River Gorge Elementary (CRGE) are already getting into the holiday spirit by creating ornaments for Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s holiday tree.

My, my, how can you resist it?

The summer of 2018 release of the movie, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” — a sequel to the popular movie adaptation of the stage musical “Mamma Mia!” — may have left some folks burnt out on ABBA, considering the Swedish pop group’s tunes color most of the story’s arc.
