Late interception propels Central Valley past Camas

Camas rallied back from a two-touchdown deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but a late interception proved costly in a 22-15 loss to Central Valley of Spokane Friday in the Class 4A state first-round.

Maddie Kemp scored four goals to help the Camas girls soccer team defeat Todd Beamer 9-0 Nov. 2, at Doc Harris Stadium. The CHS junior also broke the all-time career scoring record at Camas with 84 goals and counting.

Kicking off the playoffs right

Four different Camas girls soccer players scored goals in the first 21 minutes of a must-win game to return to the state tournament. The Papermakers delivered five more goals in the second half to turn the Todd Beamer Titans away, 9-0, at Doc Harris Stadium Nov. 2.

Big time drops for swimmers at districts

Seven Camas and four Washougal girls swimmers are on their way to the state championship meet Friday and Saturday, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
