Motocross returns to Washougal this Saturday

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, is back in Washougal for the Peterson CAT Washougal National this weekend. The touring championship holds its ninth round of races at Washougal MX Park on Saturday. The national amateur days began earlier this week, on July 26.

A new adventure park is currently being constructed at Skamania Lodge, in Stevenson, Wash. There will be different routes to take and a variety of obstacles to tackle. This photo shows a canoe suspended between two trees. People will have to shimmy across while the canoe sways like it's in water.

Camas softball team finishes fourth at state

After playing 17 grueling innings in two games Sunday, 11 softball all-stars from Camas stood in fourth place at the Little League Washington state tournament in Oak Harbor.

The East County and Camas Little League softball stars squared off in three games to determine the District 4 championship at David Douglas Park, in Vancouver. After East County beat in extra innings June 28, Camas defeated East County in back-to-back games Friday to become champions.

A Camas, East County all-star showcase

A standing-room-only crowd came to George Schmid Memorial Park Sunday to see Camas beat Cascade 10-3 for the 8-10 Washington District 4 championship.
