Construction crews began a project on state Route 500 in Camas last week that will include adding 12 sidewalk ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards, and removing old pavement and laying new asphalt. Completion is scheduled for September.

Drivers and pedestrians on state Route 500 in Camas will encounter some changes this month as crews pave the highway and improve sidewalks between Southeast Third and Southeast Seventh avenues.

Hal Zimmerman “The Servant Prince” dies at 88

Harold (Hal) Zimmerman, former owner/publisher of the Camas-Washougal Post-Record, state legislator and community organizer, died Thursday from liver and kidney failure after a 10-year battle with Parkinson's disease.
