‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ dances onto Washougal stage

Girls flip over their partner's shoulders and boys break into dance moves as sounds of people singing "bop-she-wop" fill the air. Christian Community Theater's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" opened Friday at the Washburn Performing Arts Center in Washougal High School and runs until Aug. 14.

Tulla Burke, historian with the Second Story Gallery Society, hangs "Keyhole Rock II," by Judith Sanders-Wood. The showing of the Ridgefield resident's work opened Friday with a reception at the Second Story Gallery inside the Camas Public Library.

Painting her way through life

Judith Sanders-Wood used to get in trouble with her teacher in grade school for drawing outlines of naked people in the margins of her school papers. She didn't understand why her teacher was so upset; her artistic mother had taught her to draw the human form when she was a young child as a basis for paintings and drawings.

FAA funding would have been risky for Port

The Port of Camas-Washougal is committed to transparency in its dealings and, to that end, the commissioners wish to share the thought process that helped them reach the decision made on July 19 not to accept FAA funding for Grove Field which would have obligated the Port for an infinite period of time.
