Port bylaws address officials’ behavior

The Port of Camas-Washougal has adopted a set of bylaws that one commissioner hopes will set the tone for a more respectful commission in the future.

Georgia-Pacific plans to demolish several buildings near downtown Camas

The city of Camas has determined that a Georgia-Pacific plan to demolish several buildings the company is no longer using in its Camas paper mill operations, including the company’s Camas Business Center and nonwovens fabric manufacturing plant, has met the state’s Environmental Policy Act rules and will not have any significant adverse environmental impacts.

Camas OKs Green Mountain land deal

The city of Camas will soon own 115 acres of undeveloped land on the west side of Green Mountain, in an area identified as a critical link in the city’s long-term plan to preserve open spaces and build region-wide recreation trails.

Inslee extends COVID-19 restrictions

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced this week that he is extending restrictions on businesses and gatherings for another three weeks, through Jan. 4, 2021, to help stem the continued spread of COVID-19 and avoid overwhelming the state’s medical system.

For anyone still looking for the perfect evergreen tree to brighten the winter holidays this year, there are several local options in Camas and Washougal, including buying a pre-cut tree to benefit local Boy Scouts and chopping down your own tree at one of the area’s u-cut tree farms.
