Camas leaders resurrect off-leash dog park talks

It has been more than six years since Camas-Washougal’s only off-leash dog park — the Donald and Angeline Stevenson Off Leash Area located on a 16-acre parcel at 3003 Addy St., in Washougal — closed its gates, forcing local dog owners in search of an off-leash park to shuttle their pooches to other parts of Clark County.

The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society (WCGHS) and Camas High School students have joined forces to make Saturday, Sept. 23, “a day for the dogs.”

Community mourns Camas artist Angela Swanson

Camas-Washougal artists are mourning a Camas artist known as “the backbone of many art organizations in the Clark County area.” Angela Swanson, 54, a founding member of the Artisans Guild of Camas, died unexpectedly Aug. 24, following heart surgery complications.
