Go east for gorgeous wildflowers

The sun shone bright, birds zipped around the sky and tiny, vivid purple, yellow and white flowers flared at my feet.

On one of the warmest, sunniest days so far this year, the Lacamas Heritage Trail in Camas teemed with joggers, dog walkers and people shaking off winter with a stroll along Lacamas Lake.

Washougal educator plans ‘play cafe’ for children and parents

As a mother and a teacher, Nicole Butterfield has spent more than 20 years designing hands-on, creative learning projects for children. Now, she hopes to use that experience to create a children’s play cafe where adults can enjoy coffee and pastries while their children play and learn.
