Stephens' metabolic conditioning class often includes a circuit training workout, which incorporates the use of resistance bands, punching bag, balance balls, free weights and good old fashioned body weight resistance. Krissy Barlow (left) said her participation in the class has helped to improve her physical health and appearance. "So far I've lost 3 inches in my waist, and I'm much more toned," she said.

Active and fit most of her life, after the birth of her second child Anna Stephens had some trouble getting back into the swing of things. "I just couldn't lose the weight," she said.

Guard proposes EMS levy lid lift renewal, vehicle tab fee

Preliminary estimates for 2015 indicate that Washougal is projected to have a deficit of $322,000 in our general fund. This preliminary estimate is an improvement over earlier estimates, resulting from continued prudent fiscal management and a recovering economy. When I first took office in January 2010, we had a deficit of $1.5 million. In that first year, we erased that deficit by implementing more conservative budgeting practices and through expense reductions. In fact, we ended 2010 nearly $300,000 to the good.

Oster hired as the new Camas athletic director

On June 9, the Camas School District board of directors hired Rory Oster as the new athletic director for the district. The Enumclaw native will replace Josh Gibson, who has taken a new position as a guidance counselor at Camas High School.

Students can learn how to pay for college at Washington State University Vancouver's, "A - Z of Financial Aid and Scholarships" workshop, offered multiple times through the spring and summer. Free and open to the public, this workshop is considered by organizers as a jumping-off point for all college-bound students no matter what their age, current financial situation or school they plan to attend.
