CHS hosts college and career event The annual Camas High School college and career options fair will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the CHS gym, 26900 S.E. 15th St. During the event, students and parents may visit with representatives from two- and four-year colleges, technical schools and all military branches. There will also be workshops such as, "Demystifying the Financial Aid Process," "College 101" and "Standardized Testing."
Voters have a clear choice in November about the direction they want Clark County to take, in hopes of pulling out of the worst recession in decades. In Marc Boldt, Joe Tanner David Madore and Tom Mielke, voters have four candidates, all with different ideas about how the county can prosper once again. But just two, incumbent Boldt in east county and challenger Tanner in north county, have the ability to mesh good ideas, a willingness to work across party lines and a proven track record in crafting solid plans of action, to achieve success.

o Family Halloween Night: Camas Parks and Recreation will host its annual Family Halloween Night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Liberty Middle School, 1612 N.E. Garfield St. The event includes carnival games from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m., and a costume contest from 8:30 to 9 p.m. It is designed for children ages 2 to 12. All attending must be accompanied by an adult. The entry fee is two non-perishable food items. No costume weapons are allowed.
Informational session on hosting exchange students set The Camas/Washougal chapter of AFS International programs is hosting an informal question and answer meeting at Zion Lutheran Church, 824 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas, on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 6:30.
Business consultants Keith Upkes and Ted Ernst Sarvata will present the Gazelle' growth concepts from the best -- selling business book "Mastering the Rockefeller Habits: What You Must do to Increase the Value of Your Growth Firm" Nov. 8 at the Courtyard by Marriott Portland City Center. The workshop will concentrate on the four critical decisions on which companies should focus when developing an effective growth strategy: people, strategy, execution and cash. These fundamental growth concepts are based on the same habits that John D. Rockefeller employed, as chronicled by Gazelles founder Verne Harnish.
