WWU releases winter quarter dean's list Camas resident Hannah Glynne Manning has been named to the winter quarter 2011 honor roll at Western Washington University.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, candidate Barack Obama promised organized labor that he would support their agenda. Having failed to get labor's priorities through Congress, the Obama administration is seeking to achieve the same goal through regulation.
Lillie I. Anderson Lillie Irene Anderson, of Camas, died May 15, 2011, in Clackamas, Ore. She was 77. Her life will be celebrated during a funeral service at Straub's Funeral Home on Thursday, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
Claude and Deborah Ann Rorabaugh celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 14.
Amy Goodell and David MacArthur, both of Washougal, were married April 16, 2011, at Green Willow Ranch in Vancouver. Jacquie Boell officiated.
Yeager accepted in National Society of HS scholars Breanna Yeager, a Washougal High School sophomore, has been selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars. Membership in the group entitles qualified students to enjoy a varity of benefits, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, member-only resources, publications and more. Yeager participates in dance, cheerleading, and the yearbook. She will be the promotions manager for the Associated Student Body next year, as well as a varsity cheerleader.
A daughter has been born to Miriam C. and Matt J. Brown of Washougal.
A son has been born to Diana M. and Russel J. Wurzer of Camas.
Scale back Washougal zoning plan My wife and I have owned our home, here in Washougal, for the last 25 years. A couple of years back when the Washougal City Council were debating the "E" Street improvements, we were very interested and attended some of those meetings and stood up to speak in favor of these improvements. We were for them because what we were hearing was a vision of a safer more attractive "E" Street, with new sidewalks, a center turn lane and bike lanes. Residents would be able to walk, bike and drive to the new shops, restaurants and services that would want to locate there.
Michael J. 'Mike' Patterson Michael J. "Mike" Patterson died peacefully at home in Washougal with his loved ones beside him May 2, 2011. He was 79.
