Delving into summer fun

Summer. It's a time for kids to kick back, relax and enjoy themselves. There are several camps in Clark County and across the state that help to meet this important need to have fun. Camp features range from learning how to improve sports skills to taking on the adventures of overnight camping. Best of all, there are camps and activities for all ages, stages and price ranges. The list in the print edition of the Post-Record has information on several camps and activities in the local area and beyond for the future basketball player, soccer star, scientist or adventure camper. Best of all, some of these are low-cost or even free.

His photo was chosen as the winner for the ninth to 12th-grade category in the Clark Public Utilities Stream Team 2011 Watershed Reflections Contest.

Virginia A. Cox Virginia A. Cox died April 27, 2011, at home in Vancouver. She was 57. A rosary service will be held today, at 7 p.m., at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Vancouver. Visitation will be today, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas.

Skyridge students to perform 'Guys and Dolls' Skyridge Middle School students will perform the play, 'Guys and Dolls' from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Camas High School, 26900 S.E. 15th St. Tickets can be purchased at the door and cost $7 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors.

Confused about EMS problems I'm totally confused here; Washougal residents are currently paying for emergency medical services through our taxes. Now because of mismanagement they want us to bail them out for the tune of $150,000 up front to help offset their budget deficit. What are we, the end of the rainbow? Can Washougal really afford this?

Time capsule ceremony is Sunday A time capsule containing mementoes reflecting the people and places of the Washougal community will be buried during a ceremony on Sunday, at Washougal High School. The event will take place from 2 to 2:30 p.m., at the WHS commons near the courtyard. Speakers will include Washougal residents Bernice Pluchos and Roger Daniels, as well as student Emily Carroll, who is organizing the event as part of her senior project.
