I was encouraged to put together a list of resolutions for the City of Washougal in early 2010 and while the list was ambitious, I am happy to report we have substantially started or completed all but two items that were on that list. I anticipate the same success on the 2011 resolutions.
Door-to-door sales take a scary turn I think something needs to be done about the recent rush of pushy door to door salesmen in the area. I know several people who are scared to answer their door anymore and I don't blame them.
Teen game night, 'Read to the Dogs' set There will be a teen game night at the Washougal Community Library, 1661 "C" St., from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. Call the library at 835-5393 for details. Also coming up will be a "Read to the Dogs" night Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., where readers of all ages can sign up to read aloud to a therapy dog for 24 minutes.
Hamilton-Myers A daughter has been born to Stephanie Hamilton and Daniel Myers of Camas. MaKaylie Ashton Danielle Myers was born Oct. 11, 2010, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Beaverton, Ore.
McKnight-Monks A son has been born to Stephanie Paige McKnight and Christian Monks of Washougal. Hunter Eli Monks was born Dec. 27, 2010, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.
Shaunette Bozarth of Woodland and Ryan Baker of Washougal, son of Keith and Carol Baker, were married Dec. 2, 2010, at The Crown Ballroom in Portland. Paul Ireland officiated.
Katie Hollingshead and Olin Ostenson, both of Lewiston, Idaho, have announced their plans to be married March 12, 2011, at Lewis and Clark Plaza in Lewiston.
John T. Bega John Thomas Bega died unexpectedly Jan. 4, 2011, at his home in Camas. He was 62. There will be no public services at John's request. Private inurnment will be at the Camas Cemetery.
Jan Tauc Jan Tauc died peacefully Dec. 28, 2010, at his home in Washougal. He was 88. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, at 5 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas.
