Harvest of area state forests to continue

State forest lands in Clark County scheduled for harvest will remain on the auction block for now, despite pushback from residents, environmental groups and the county council, according to Public Lands Commissioner Dave Upthegrove.

Army Corps sets meetings on $1.5B underwater power line

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced it will hold two online public meetings later this month to get feedback on a $1.5 billion project to run a 100-mile-long high-voltage power line under the Columbia River.

First 3 months of 2026 likely to be wet

The National Weather Service has made its predictions for the first three months of 2026, estimating a 40-50 percent chance of average levels of precipitation in the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures for the coldest months of the year will remain normal.

Power line worries Columbia River navigators
