New Leaders join Clark College Alumni Board

Five Clark County leaders joined the Clark College Alumni Association board of directors. They are Jay Gilberg, class of 1978, of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Mari Jessup, '12, of Horenstein Law Group, Chandra Chase, '02, of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Carson Legree of Clark College and Jennifer Campbell, '13, an award-winning Clark student. Each new board member will serve a three-year term and work on a variety of projects including alumni membership recruitment, on- and off-campus fundraising events, Clark College's Outstanding Alumni Award recognition and the annual Alumni-Student Dinner.

Vision clinic hosts open house

Area residents and business representatives are invited to view the remodeled Vancouver Vision Clinic. An open house will be held Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at 329 N.E. Sixth Ave. A ribbon cutting is set for 4:30 p.m.

Event will recognize ‘green’ business practices

Seventeen businesses will be honored Wednesday for their commitment to environmental protection by participating in Clark County's Green Business Program. The third annual Green Business Showcase will recognize new program participants, as well as businesses that continue to reduce energy use, promote recycling, manage polluted storm runoff and implement other sustainable practices.

A Washougal library update The Washougal Library is one of 16 library service sites in the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District. It opened in 1981 in the current 2,400 square foot building, when the population of Washougal was about 4,000. It's a warm and inviting place - but tiny.
