City demos former Moose Lodge building
The building that previously housed the Moose Lodge was demolished Monday morning by City of Camas crews to make way for the new Lacamas Lake Lodge and Conference Center.

Grayson Anderson got into a different orbit Thursday. The Camas High School senior soared the bar set at 6 feet. Then 6-2. Then 6-4. Then 6-6. The crowd of athletes and coaches watching his every move gave Anderson a few last bursts of energy in the thrusters. He finally came to a rest at 6 feet, 6 inches on the day, feeling accomplished. "You always hope for days like this, but they don't come around all that often," Anderson said. "This is why I do track and field."
Special education resource fair set There will be a Southwest Washington Special Education and Resource Fair at Prairie High School, 11500 N.E. 117th Ave., Vancouver, on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a number of camps for Camas-Washogual area children, who will be on spring break starting Monday.

My greenhouse is covered with a thin plastic film. A few molecules of plastic are all it takes to make it 30 Fahrenheit degrees warmer inside than out. When coal, gasoline, and natural gas are burned, they produce carbon dioxide which traps heat just like the plastic film of my greenhouse.
Unlike other parts of the United States, the Pacific Northwest has welcomed warmer, drier weather in recent weeks. Returning with the climate and time changes are State Route 14 work crews who will finish the $49 million project, which broke ground June 1, 2011.
The Camas and Washougal boys soccer teams had two weeks to establish their new lineups, but the now the games are about to get serious. Tonight will mark the first league match of the season for both the Panthers and the Papermakers. Camas (3-2) challenges Skyview, the defending 4A state champion, at Doc Harris Stadium. Washougal (2-5) welcomes R.A. Long to Fishback Stadium. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
